Blood bank saline is pH-controlled for a pH between 6.5 and 7.0.

Buffered saline is tightly controlled to a pH range of 7.0 to 7.2 and is specially designed to enhance weak agglutination reactions in blood bank procedures. Both saline and buffered saline remain stable without preservatives.
