| Description | Fusion: 3/6/92. elav-9F8A9 is is a marker for most cells in the central and peripheral nervous system, at all stages of development, once they have differentiated into a neuron. The elav protein binds RNA and is involved in RNA processing. elav is a pan-neuronal marker (nuclear marker for post mitotic neurons) and is often used to contrast staining obtained with 8D12 anti-Repo, a marker of glial cells. This mAb works on WB, but the rat version Rat-Elav-7E8A10 anti-elav may work better [PMID 17994541]. |
