Description | Rabbit IgG polyclonal Picoband™ antibody for Prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2 subtype (PTGER2) detection. Tested with WB in Human. No cross reactivity with other proteins. Prostaglandin E2 receptor (53kDa), also known as EP2, is aprostaglandin receptor for prostaglandin E2. It is encoded by the human gene PTGER2. It may be associated with aspirin-induced asthma. PTGER2 is mapped to chromosome 14q22. This gene encodes a receptor for prostaglandin E2, a metabolite of arachidonic acid which has different biologic activities in a wide range of tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with aspirin-induced susceptibility to asthma. |
Immunogen | A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human PTGER2 (281-308aa TIFAYMNETSSRKEKWDLQALRFLSINS), different from the related mouse sequence by four amino acids, and from the related rat sequence by three amino acids. |
