| Description | Rabbit polyclonal antibody to UCP2 also known as UCPH and solute carrier family25 member8, whose expression can be detected in tissues rich in macrophages but is highly expressive in white adipose tissue and skeletal muscle. It is found in the mitochondrial inner membrane. These proteins are mitochondrial transporter proteins that create proton leaks across the inner mitochondrial membrane, thus uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation from ATP synthesis. As a result, energy is dissipated in the form of heat. It also helps in carrying out oxidative phosphorylation uncoupler activity. |
