Sequence comparisons distinguish this protein as forming a third, distinct class of;tetrahydrobiopterin-dependent enzymes. Variations in this gene have been associated with decreased glucose-stimulated;insulin response, type 2 diabetes, and susceptibility to intracranial aneurysms. |
