Product Name | Glucokinase, Liver, Recombinant, Human, FLAG-tag |
Description | Purity ~77% (SDS-PAGE). Glucose is phosphorylated to glucose-6-phosphate by glucokinases. This gene is alternatively spliced to generate three different forms of the enzyme; one found in the pancreas and two found in the liver. The main function of this gene is to regulate carbohydrate metabolism. Recombinant human liver Glucokinase (Accession# NP_277042) has a C-terminal FLAG tag and has 474aa residues. It can be useful for studies including enzyme kinetics, activator screening and kinase selectivity. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human liver Hexokinase Type IV, fused to FLAG-tag at C-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~53.4kD Specific Activity: ~662pmol/min/ug Unit Definition: One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will convert 1pmol of NADP to NADPH at 30°C. Assay Conditions: 25mM HEPES, pH 7.5, 2mM MgCl2, 1mM DTT, 0.5mM NADP, 2mM ATP, 25mM glucose, 100ug/ml BSA, 20units/ml glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase, 10nM human liver glucokinase at 30° |
