| Description | CD272 (BTLA) Monoclonal Antibody (8F4), Biotin, eBioscience™. B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) is a 289 amino acid recently identified inhibitory receptor that provides crucial activating or attenuating signals for T cells. It is a third member of co-inhibitory receptors of the CD28 immunoglobulin superfamily with similarities to (CTLA)-4 and (PD)-1 and interacts with a B7 homolog, B7H4. BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and its expression progressively decreases upon T cell activation. It remains expressed on Th1 cells but not Th2 cells. BTLA is a unique co-receptor which interacts with the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM) and this interaction is an i |
