Product Name | BMP-14, Recombinant, Human |
Description | Purity ~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) belong to the TGF-beta superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. As implied by their name, BMPs promote and regulate bone development, growth, remodeling and repair, in both prenatal development and postnatal growth of eye, heart, kidney, skin, and other tissues. In addition to its osteogenic activity, BMP-14 is a principal inhibitor of cartilage development and is predominantly expressed in long bone during human embryonic development. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to two 120aa polypeptide chains from human BMP-14, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~27kD Biological Activity: The ED50, as determined by its ability to induce alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC-5 chondrogenic cells, is 1-2ug/ml. Endotoxin: <0.1ng/ug |
