| Description | Purity ~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). RANTES is a CC-chemokine that can signal through the CCR1, CCR3, CCR5 and US28 (cytomegalovirus receptor) receptors. It is a chemoattractant towards monocytes, memory T cells (CD4+/CD45RO), basophils, and eosinophils. RANTES also has the capability to inhibit certain strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human RANTES, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 68aa, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~7.8kD (68aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: Measured by its ability to chemoattract human CCR5 transfected BaF3 mouse pro-B cells.The ED50 for this effect is typically 1-5ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e5IU/mg.
