| Description | Aequorin Monoclonal Antibody (2Q2147). Aequorin is a calcium-activated photoprotein isolated from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. It catalyses the oxidation of coelenterazine, but only in the presence of Ca2+ ions. In the animals, the protein occurs together with the Green fluorescent protein to produce green light by resonant energy transfer, while aequorin by itself generates blue light. |
