Product Name | PLA2G7, Recombinant, Human, aa47-441, His-Tag |
Description | Purity ~85% (SDS-PAGE). PLA2G7 (platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase), also known as lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2, is a phospholipase A2 enzyme. It is a secreted enzyme which catalyzes the degradation of platelet-activating factor to biologically inactive products. This protein is produced by inflammatory cells and hydrolyzes oxidised phospholipids in LDL. In the blood, PLA2G7 goes mainly with LDL and less than 20% is coupled with HDL. It is implicated in the development of atherosclerosis and is also a marker for cardiac disease. It might have a major physiologic effect in the presence of inflammatory bodily responses. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa47-441 from human PLA2G7, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~47.2kD (418aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. |
