| Description | Rabbit polyclonal antibody to eIF2 alpha (eukaryotic initiation factor 2) which belongs to the WD repeat EIF2A family. IF2 promotes a new round of translation initiation by exchanging GDP for GTP, a reaction catalyzed by eIF2B. eIF2 alpha acts in the early stage of protein synthesis of a small number of specific mRNAs and also may act by impiging the expression of specific proteins. |
