| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 61-76 (ASRDPVARTSPLQTPAC) of human Bcl-2 was used as immunogen; GenBank no NP_000648.2. This sequence is 100% conserved in human Bcl-2 alpha (239 amino acids) and beta (205 amino acids) isoforms. The literature indicates that the immunogen sequence is not conserved between human Bcl-2 and other species. Therefore this antibody may be particularly useful for detecting human Bcl-2 in transgenic studies. |
