| Description | THEM2 Polyclonal Antibody. The THEM2 gene encodes an uncharacterized hypothalamus protein and is part of the thioesterase superfamily. The thioesterase superfamily catalyzes the hydrolysis of long-chain fatty acyl-CoA thioesters. THEM2 belongs to the hotdog-fold enzyme superfamily containing a hotdog-fold and forms a back-to-back tetramer as other hotdog proteins. The protein is highly expressed in the kidney, and moderately expressed in the liver, brain, large intestine, and small intestine. Human THEM2 is co-localized with, and binds to, microtubules in all stages of the cell cycle as confirmed by immunostaining and GFP-Tag experiments. The protein is essential for eukaryotic cells growth. The gene encoding for human THEM2 is localized in |
