| Description | Rabbit polyclonal to LDLR.The low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) gene family consists of cell surface proteins involved inreceptor-mediated endocytosis of specific ligands. LDLR is a single-pass membrane protein, whichbinds LDL, the major cholesterol-carrying lipoprotein of plasma, and transports it into cells byendocytosis. LDLR can be ubiquitinated by MYLIP leading to its degradation. Mutations in LDLRcause the autosomal dominant disorder, familial hypercholesterolemia. |
