RSA™ Vials and Inserts are made with reduced surface activity glass (RSA™)

Made with a patent pending, glass manufacturing process, RSA™ vials and inserts have reduced surface reactivity, including low adsorption for basic compounds. This is due to the elimination of virtually all silanols (hydroxyl groups) that can have deleterious effects on analytes and sample solutions. RSA™ vials are free of the glass "dust" (borax), grease, or other contaminants found in other leading vial brands used to produce vials quickly and cheaply. These contaminants will effect sensivitve samples.

With standard borosilicate glass vials and inserts, sample diluents (such as water) can de-protonate the many surface hydroxyl groups; producing a negative charge on the glass wall. These silanols has been known to variably cause adsorption of basic compounds, change the sample solution pH, and/or hydrolyze susceptible compounds rendering them undetectable. With RSA™ vials and inserts there is virtually no basic compound sample "loss to the vial" and no "pH shifting", making every analysis more reliable and predictable.

Available in standard 2 ml sizes, clear and amber formats, and with limited volume features when sample is limited. Also available as limited volume inserts, not shown on this page.
