Product Name | Recombinant Mouse CXADR/CAR-Fc Chimera (carrier-free) |
Description | CXADR (coxsackie and adenovirus receptor), also known as CAR, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily (IGSF). Its 218 amino acid extracellular domain consists of two immunoglobulin-like domains, V-type (D1) and C-type (D2) that share 90% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat CXADR. CXADR functions as a receptor for group B coxsackieviruses and subgroup C adenoviruses. It also functions as a homophilic cell adhesion molecule within junctional complexes between epithelial cells lining body cavities. CXADR is essential for tight junction integrity and normal cardiac development in mice. It is also involved in transepithelial migration of leukocytes through interaction with JAML. CXADR/JAML interaction activates gamma-delta T-cells through PI3-kinase and MAP kinases pathways. T-cell activation and subsequent proliferation leads to cytokine production stimulating epithelial tissue repair. |
