Applications | ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot. This monoclonal antibody is suitable for ELISA, immunohistochemistry and western blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 21 kDa in size corresponding to BAX protein by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. BAX is found in normal breast tissue as a cytoplasmic protein and also at the cell membrane. For immunohistochemistry, samples should be formalin fixed and paraffin embedded. Deparaffinize slides using xylene or xylene alternatives and graded alcohols. Staining requires boiling of sections in 10 mM citrate buffer pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. |

Description | This product was purified from concentrated tissue culture supernate by Protein A/G chromatography. This antibody is specific for human BAX protein. Cross-reactivity with BAX protein from other sources has not been determined. |
Immunogen | This monoclonal antibody was produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal region of human BAX protein. The hybridoma was produced by fusing New Zealand White rabbit splenocytes and myeloma cells using conventional technology. |
